While filming "The Night of the Iguana" in the early 60's, director John Huston rented Casa Tabachin to enjoy the fabulous hillside panoramic views of Puerto Vallarta and the Bay of Banderas.
One of the original houses of Gringo Gulch, Fernando Romero built it in the old colonial Mexican style in 1957, and then went on to build many wonderful homes, including Huston's. Architect James Meares, a designer of Los Angeles' Dorothy Chandler Music Pavilion, recently remodeled Casa Tabachin.

Raquel Brooks, long term resident and art dealer, has blended intimacy and charm into Casa Tabachin by decorating the two-level home with artworks from her famous Vallarta gallery and special commissions by national artists.
